As part of our commitment to sustainability and innovation,
B2S Renewable Energies has successfully implemented the
C-Daf 78 C dissolved air flotation (
DAF) sludge thickening technology, developed by
Urumea, at the
Vic Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). This project strengthens our dedication to efficient and responsible water treatment.
KEY FEATURES of the DAF C-Daf 78 C
- Optimized design: Circular flotation system with a useful diameter of 10 meters and an interior height of 2 meters.
- Stainless steel central unit: Designed to efficiently distribute water, collect sludge, and channel clarified water for maximum efficiency and durability.
- High-efficiency sludge management: Equipped with a floating sludge collector, including a transfer carriage, a sludge collection scoop, and a screw conveyor for surface evacuation, along with bottom scrapers.
- Advanced control: Adjustable speed through frequency variators in the transfer carriage and sludge extraction scoop.
- Robust materials: Constructed with AISI 304 stainless steel for all parts in contact with water, ensuring durability in demanding environments.
- Advanced microbubble technology: State-of-the-art hydrodynamic pressurization system with control loops regulating depressurization valves, ensuring the homogeneous formation of microbubbles to maximize the flotation of solids, fats, and oils.
KEY TECHNICAL DATA:
- Maximum feed flow: 100 m³/h.
- Solids at inlet: <5,500 mg/L.
- Mass load: 7 kgMS/m²/h.
- Retention time: >30 minutes.
- Solids in effluent (outlet): <300 mg/L.
- Floating sludge concentration: Up to 4% without chemicals, 6-8% with flocculant.
KEY BENEFITS :
✔ Sustainability: Maximum sludge thickening (up to 4%MS) without chemical consumption and low energy use at higher dryness levels (6-8%MS).
✔ Efficient clarification: Reduction of up to 95% of suspended solids.
✔ Resource optimization: Enhanced microbubble formation, reducing energy consumption and minimizing or eliminating chemical use.
✔ Improved anaerobic digestion at WWTP: Higher sludge dryness reduces the daily volume fed into digestion, increasing organic load, reducing HRT, and boosting biogas production.
At B2S Renewable Energies, we collaborate with Urumea to provide innovative technological solutions that drive sustainability, protect water resources, and enhance sanitation infrastructure in Catalonia.
